Still on the hunt

My house is cleaner than it's been in a long time. My hubby came to me humbly and told me we need to work as a team to change the way we live. I wasn't in danger of setting fire to the building, but I wouldn't eagerly let strangers into my home if I hadn't been given advanced notice. You know the house -- dust bunnies and smudges, messy piles, but in no way needing a bulldozer. Still, I had to make a choice right then.

Two choices lay before me ... start stammering about how it's not my fault and I won't be roped into doing it all on my own. Or, agree to get to work with him. And so I got to work, and amazingly, the house looks great. My hubby did fully half the work of getting it into shape, and now it's all on me and the kids to keep it that way.

Still, he's taking time each day to uncover a new mess in a hidden corner, organize it, and make me smile! I'm so grateful.

In years past, we had discussions about the mess where I fought and complained to cover my fear that he would think I wasn't trying. In reality, I needed to face my lack. Did he need to learn anything? He may one day reflect upon this, but for me, I had to learn to listen. And thankfully, I did listen.

There are things we're all trying to get ahold of, accomplish, or simply get rid of. We're longing for a better way of life. Well, today, I am mindful that when I'm humble and let people lead me in areas where they are strong, yet still keep a willing, eager-to-work attitude, things happen!

Working for Something

When we began writing on this blog and to create for our website, we wondered if anyone would read what we wrote, visit out site, view our collection, or if they'd even care. But things have progressed and over time, we've come to realize that whether or not we see the fruits of our labors, we're doing something important here. Our work is not in vain. Why?

Well, we're trying to do good things with our talents. That's never a waste. And we're going to keep providing what we can for the audience who will come. Will you come? We hope you will. Follow the link to our site and start browsing. We're still working on redoing some connections that got lost when our free sites on geocities closed down just a few weeks ago, so you won't find it perfect, but if you'll forgive the few defective links, I still think you'll find some treasure if you dig.

Commencement

This month ... just a few days ago, in fact ... I graduated from college! It was a long time coming, but what blew me away was that rather than calling it a "Finishing Ceremony," they called my graduation a "Commencement." Now, that word means starting something, and I guess that's what my commencement was all about. I'm starting on my way to a new career, a new lifestyle, and a whole new schedule. It's exciting.

If you didn't graduate this Spring, you still have to commence something today. God has a job for you, a new schedule, and a whole new start. Where you've been in a rut, where you've faced disappointment, or even if you've just had a hugely successful moment, like my graduation, it's a chance to have a whole new COMMENCEMENT. So, decide today to commence something new for God. It's bound to be amazing!

On being in a rut.

Any of you who have visited the site can see that it's still quite boring. I'm sorry about that. NEO's working on the graphics and I'm trying to simplify the design so that it's easy to maneuver and not too wordy. Funny that they'd put me in charge of that.

Today in poetry class, my professor told me that I was still too prosy, another student said I've got only one theme for all my poems, and in general, I appear to be stuck in a rut. It's funny because though all my stories are about romance, I pride myself in how different each one is from the other. I can take my people into very different situations. But apparently, when it comes to poetry, I can't. (grin)

If you're stuck in a rut, check out my page, help me redesign it. Submit an idea for a logo. We can't pay you for it, but helping us dig ourselves out of this rut might be just what you need. I know it's what WE need. (smile)

How's the Family? Well...

We're excited! The new site is coming along and we're making plans for the unveiling to be big! We also want to invite you all to comment on all the latest things we're adding. For instance, pictures! We knew you wanted to know more about who we are and what we're like, so NEO created some amazing images for the site.

What else is new? This blog! We're not hosting it ourselves because this site makes comments and stuff much easier for us. When in doubt, do it the easiest way, right? It's been fun.

We can't wait to get to know our visitors and learn about you. So please, leave a comment. We'd love to hear from you today!
